Neodymium magnet recycling and reuse: a sustainable strategy to minimize environmental impact
In today's globalized economy, neodymium magnets, as a key industrial material, play an important role in a variety of applications, from wind turbines to electronics to high-performance cars. However, as these products reach the end of their life cycle, what to do with discarded magnets containing rare earth elements such as neodymium is a growing environmental problem. Neodymium magnets are composed of neodymium, iron and boron and have strong magnetic and stable physical properties. However, discarded neodymium magnets that have not been properly disposed of can release harmful substances that can contaminate soils, water sources and ecosystems.

This method uses the magnetic field generated by the neodymium magnet itself to separate it from the mixture. The advantage of this technology is that no additional chemical reagents are required, reducing the risk of secondary contamination.
First, it is essential to establish a sound collection and sorting system to ensure that discarded neodymium magnets can be effectively identified and separated. Secondly, the government and industry organizations should develop corresponding standards and norms to encourage enterprises to adopt environmentally friendly recycling technologies.
